Opening .EPS Files

I use P.S.7 which , of course, opens .eps files .

However someone I know who is not interested in photography wants to
be able to open documents which have embedded graphics in the form of
..eps files and wishes to be able to open these files without going to
the expense of buying P.S.

Does anyone in this NG know of any other Apps which will do this job
more cheaply than buying P.S. ?
