Hi all,

I've downloaded a number of free actions from the net. Is there a way (in
CS3) to organise actions so that when I click the action palette they open
up in folders as opposed to a large list? I know I can click 'load' actions
from the flyout menu, but I would like to have them listed in folders as
opposed to a large (and growing) list.
Cheers,
Paul

You can make your own foldere (sets) from the flyout menu> New Set. Name
them and drag whatever Actions into them that you want.

And don't forget to Save the sets.

Hi Ed,
Thank you for the info, but I'm still puzzled. If I create a new set, name
it, and drag the actions into the folder they appear there as you said.
However, clicking the small triangle on the palette still shows the actions
listed separately. Unless I click "load action" it seems there's no way to
have them listed in menus/submenus.

Not sure what you mean. Which little triangle? The one next to the
"folder"? That is opening it.

Or the Flyout menu? That should list the sets. Try quitting Photoshop
and then restarting it.

Thanks again Ed...but the "problem" still exists. I've been using PS for
quite a while, but never dealt with this before...despite reading the
manual.
Anyhow, this is what I'm doing:

1. Open the action palette
2. Click the small triangle, top right of palette which opens the list of
actions as a menu (along with at the top...button mode, new action, new set
etc)
3. I click "new set"...give it a name and click ok.
4. I open some actions that I want to put in the set, and drag them to the
"new set" . I then save the set. The set is now listed in the "load actions"
list, but the flyout menu still lists them individually...which is not what
I want.

Hopefully this makes sense? perhaps it's not possible to do what I want? If
I click "load actions" then I guess it works, but I'd like the flyout menu
to be able to have submenus.

Cheers,
Paul
